THE YEAR IS 2030. IN A DRAMATIC, final attempt to free her inner demons, twenty-year-old Daniela Delgado tempts fate and winds up on a strange farm in 1923. With an olive complexion due to her Mexican/Italian heritage and a fresh pixie cut, she is mistaken for a “boy of color.” Her only shot at survival now is to play it cool, pose as “Danny,” and figure out how to get back home to her two, loving moms.

And then she meets Daphne—an abused, motherless farm girl in desperate need of freedom and a friend. Having escaped Daphne’s father, the two of them are now roaming the streets of New York City disguised as a young aristocrat and her male servant. They’re running out of money, and ideas. And Daniela thought living in 2030 was tough.

But her solar powered smart phone works. And there’s someone within range. She pings them. A selfie of an attractive male comes in with the text: I’m Lain. Who the f--- are you? Even in that moment, Daniela knows this can’t be safe, but what are her choices? They meet Lain at a speakeasy on the Lower East Side. When Daniela reveals her last name, Lain says the only Delgado he knows is Anaya—the head of the Santa Muerte Coven of witches in Merida, Mexico. And then he hints that Daniela is a liar, even though she rocks a man’s three-piece suit like no woman he’s ever met. And as for her tattoos? Don’t get Lain started….

Despite the intrigue, Daniela adds Lain to the list of folks Daphne and she must outrun to stay alive. But as they plan their trip to Mexico, they soon discover that list is much longer than they thought. And they uncover a few other things, too, about Daniela’s true identity….

My Review

It was an interesting fast paced read for me. The racism aspect in the book wasn't that deep and really was used to make Daniela realize that the life she thought was so horrible wasn't all that bad compared to what it could have been. A little perspective can be great attitude adjustment.

I'm looking forward to the next book. I'm hoping that Sabine is not traitor. Please, please, please don't let her be a traitor and though I see there's about to be "the only one true mate" storyline about to happen, Lain didn't win me over. Anyway, good read to me.

My Review
This was pretty darn good. Y'all know I like me a good dystopian story. In The Deadly Sun we enter a society built after our present day society have fudged up. The sun has always been deadly but now the ultraviolet rays are stronger so people either live underground or in domes. Well you have the Grounders...

This has similar themes that we have seen in other dystopians like Hunger Games, Divergent and such. I'm not bothered by that because quite frankly every genre has a trope, if they didn't then how would the be group together in genres. Anyway, I like the characters. And the storytelling. It grabbed me from beginning to end. I think that If you looking for a good dystopian novel this should be the next one on your list.

At aged twenty seven, my husband and I packed up our belongings for our lifelong dream to move to California. Our America dream was completed with the birth of our daughter.

A new job opportunity opened up New York, and we decided to relocate to Long Island, NY, where we currently reside.

My books are a mixture of thriller, action, and dystopian. If you’re looking for a good place to start, take a look at War Kids series of thrillers, available now. My Review
So let me tell you about Memortality. I wanted to read this book because it sounded different. Minerva was in involved in a car accident when she was a kid that left her paralyzed. Her mother is completely cold-hearted though I was incline to think that perhaps she acted that way so that she didn't have to deal with issues she had with herself. Anyway, I felt bad for her having that type of mother. With that said, she wasn't all that sympathetic of a character for me at the beginning. Like her friend said she turned into the person she hated.

Once you get passed that bit the story picked up and was quite interesting. Her talent brought back Raven and did so he would be at the time and not picking up at the age he died. The author could have left it there and explore the story as a romance but instead added the extra element of being hunted. Now the story has action and another character who has a backstory.

I liked this book. It took me awhile to get past the beginning chapters but once I did the story took hold. And look at that book cover. Some of y'all know that I love eyes so this is a beauty for me.

Parker Breckinridge is a sophomore in college and already running her own internet cosmetics business. She doesn’t apologize for her successes—or anything else. She’s worked hard to get what where she is. She’s had to. It’s not like there was anything else in her life, despite her rich family.

Cade Adler doesn’t do relationships—especially relationships with uptight princesses. Been there. Done that. Destroyed the T-shirt. Besides, what with working full-time as a police officer and going to school, who has time for women? Not him.

With his tattoos and overall attitude, Cade is exactly what Parker doesn’t need. And between her father’s money and her piss-poor attitude, Parker is exactly what Cade doesn’t need.

So why is it they can’t stay apart?

My Review
I wanted to read this book because of Parker. She seemed like the kind of female character I would enjoy to read about. Smart, independent, and determined. Parker comes across as a bitch sometimes but really how many of us never do? I know that I can come across that way when I'm in protective/defensive mode but I'm actually a really nice person. Parker is one of those people who seem to be so focused on the end goal that she doesn't really see how she treats people to get there but then with her expectations it's easy to not "see" others.

Cade was a good counterpart. He has working man background. I liked him because he had focus too. Maybe I'm on a get focus kick right now. Oy, me and my random thoughts...  Any way, it was actually a fun and quick read. It's a bit predictable I liked the characters so I didn't mind. This is one of those books that you know is going to have a happy ending and you are reading to see just how they get there. I haven't read any of the Ritter University books but if they are anything like that one then this won't be the last. Besides I'm interested to know how Parker came off when she was just a side character.

*though it say book 6 you can read it out of order and not feel the least bit lost

My Review
I really ended up liking this book. I know y'all are like when do you ever not a book. LOL It's true if it's written I'm probably going to find something to like about it. This one is different. I knew that I would like it but I didn't expect it not to be the romancy fluff.

Audra has had a heart transplant that has of course extended her life. She feels a bit guilty that someone had to die in order for her to live. So she finds out her donor is (Emily) and decides to recreate her Tumblr done-it list as a thank you. Since Emily brother did most of the photography she ask him if he would be willing to recreate the pictures and to her surprise he agrees.

Things become complicated as Audra would like to know about Emily but Jake (the brother) is not so forthcoming. The two start to fall for each other but there's always something that creates tension. I will say this that Jake has the brooding hunky guy down! Sidenote, him and his forehead kisses. Ladies if you are on the fence about any guy. You don't know where things are going to lead and you don't want to get caught up emotionally...DO NOT LET HIM FOREHEAD KISS YOU!!! I don't know why but there is something sexual, enduring, and just heartstring pulling about a forehead kiss. Y'all have been forewarned.

Anyway, I just liked this story. The way her good intentions were low key snooping. There were times when I just wished she would say 'I have her heart and would like to know as much as possible about her'. I think many people would if they were in those circumstances.

Looking for a romance with a good storyline I think this is a good story for you.

About the Author
Lindsey has been writing since she was nine years old, when she discovered the awesomeness that is Harriet the Spy. Her books always include a romance, though sometimes there’s an added sci-fi or magical realism twist. She lives in Columbus, Ohio (where the weather is never quite right). Her BFA in Photography and Graphic Design has granted her a wide assortment of creative knowledge that serves as inspiration (and not much else). When she’s not crafting YA and NA stories, you'll likely find her spending waaay too much time on Pinterest, playing a video game, singing show-tunes, or performing in a burlesque show—because she enjoys giving her introversion a worthy adversary. (Plus, it's the closest to Broadway she’ll ever get.) Lindsey was a proud 2016 Pitch Wars Mentee and thoroughly adores being a part of the wonderful writing community. THE HEARTBEAT HYPOTHESIS is her debut novel.

My Review
I'll keep this short and sweet. Better than I thought it would be. First let me say the sex scenes are hot , hot, hot with a side of steamy. I liked Mack and Connor. It's a fun read but Mack's backstory adds a dose of seriousness . Find read to get yourself in the summer read mood.
