This novelette introduces the spicy couple, Aria Cambridge and Carlos "Stone" Wilkins, who by chance become re-acquainted at the most unlikeliest of places on the most ironic of days.
Carlos is a deeply-scarred bachelor who never expects to find anything interesting at Club Carnal on Valentine's Night but when Aria graces the stage, he is ensnared by her seductive dance.
Aria works as an exotic dancer named Plenty and is nothing short of surprised to see a face from her past. She is determined to show Carlos all that he missed out on but her plan goes awry as she realizes that she may be getting in way over her head while playing the game of seduction.

My Review:
This is a great short story. A few pages long, Wise fleshes out these characters pretty well. Carlos is sexy, confident, and cocky. He has it going on from his intelligence, looks, personality and he knows it. Aria is a stripper as a job but does not let it define her.

There is a definite story line. Carlos has been hurt by a previous relationship. Not wanting to go through the pain his ex had put him through, he became a woman juggling ladies man. The bachelor life is no longer as fun as it once was. He wants something more but with the hurt of a fail relationship on his mind it won't be easy for him to let someone get close again.

Aria had a big time crush on Carlos years ago. Realizing who he was once she had brought him up on stage during her act ignite old feelings in her. Could she be the one he falls in love with? That question is unknown. One thing is certain, the sexual chemistry between the two will leave them coming back for more.

Aaron aka Old Money has it all on the outside but his sense of entitlement made him off limits to Plenty. Not used to being turned down, he is angered when he is rejected again. When things get physical outside Club Carnal, Aaron swears vengeance.

This is a sexually explicit story. What is rare with this one? It is focus on Aria's pleasure only. So ladies take a few minutes to read a little something to get you in the mood. Oh, and fellas read it and take notes. Once is great but multiples are ooooohhhh so much better!

My Review:
I have avoided this book (and movie) for awhile. However, every time I went to search for a book to read it would show up. Finally, I decided to go ahead and give it a listen. It turned out to be a good read. I don't care for stories that I know will upset me. I story about Black maids in the South I knew would get under my skin. I was right but It sucked me in.

Each character had their own story. My favorite character was definitely Milli. I saw alot of me in her. LOL, I am someone who tells it like it is even when I probably should just keep my mouth shut. The book is written from the point of view of Skeeter, Ableen, and Milli. It could have gotten confusing but thankful it was not. It successfully plays on your emotions while reading it.

One thing that caught my attention that wasn't addressed (though the maids still got credit for the book) is that the book idea was not original to Skeeter. Ableen states that her son wanted to write a similar book but a few pages later it was made to seem as if Skeeter got hit with this idea in the middle of the night. Also I think that the setting of the neighborhoods could have be described in a little more detail. Those were the two problems I had with this book with this book.

I can related to this book. If you read my profile (to the right )you will see that I am a Southerner though I have lived longer in the North as I have in the South. I grew up in a pretty infamous Southern city known for its part in the civil rights movement. My previous comment of describing the town in more detail would have added to show just how different the two races lived. I know where I grew up not going did the neighborhood have a different feel, the houses looked different.

The Help is a good read. I am glad that I read it. There were parts that were upsetting as well as parts that were funny. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Daniel Jones is the mastermind ghost writer behind his best friend, Aliyah Moon’s books. The duo has landed on several bestseller lists. The success has gotten Aliyah in the middle of an urban fiction, who reign supreme, competition. Fiercely loyal to his friend (as well as being the actual writing talent) he takes offense at the criticism. Jones uses the tweets of those who are most negatively outspoken as a deadly list of payback.

 

The Tweet Files is definitely a very disturbing book. One would think that it is because of the explicit violence and language. However, it is because of the way in which Jones chooses his victims. His method is the internet or more specifically, as the title of the book indicates, Twitter.

 

Social media has become part of daily living. Businesses use social media websites for promotion. Individuals use them to keep in touch with friends, family, and the world in general. The Tweet Files highlights just how vulnerable social media users make themselves. Kids and teens are often told not to give out their addresses and real names. Great advice that most of us follow however, The Tweet Files shows that there more than one way to get to a person.

 

How many times have you tweeted where you were going, at, or was? What if you had a stalker who had the patience to track your movements who your statuses and tweets? That realization is what makes this story such a twisted read.

 

Split into 3 very short volumes (each approximately 35 pages) it is a fast paced read filled with the twisted mind of a serial killer. Even as I write this, it chills me to think that my words could so easily set off the mind of a murder. So…see ya twitter?

Defence Against the Dark Arts - read any book that has defence(defense), dark and/or art(s) in its title, read any book that is about self defense, war, history of war/marital arts, murder mysteries

Charms - read any book that has charm in its title, any book that deals with gives something or someone a new aspect (for example the nerdy guy become a handsome doctor)

Potions - read any book that has potion in its title, cookbooks count but you must cook at least one recipe out of the book

Astronomy - read any book that has astronomy in its title, books about planets, stars, sci-fi, etc

History of Magic - read any book that has history or magic in its title, books about magic, witches, etc

Herbology - read any book that has herb in its title, again cookbooks count and again you must cook at least one recipe out of the book

Care of Magical Creatures - read any book that has magical or creatures in its title, about supernatural beings

Muggle Studies - nearly any book works here, what better way to understand Muggles than to read what they read
