I love books. I always have. There was a period of my life growing up when I had so much to deal with that it took all I had to make it through the day. Needless to say my love of reading became non existant. Then one day my mom decided to go to the bookstore. They had a table of discounted books. One of those books was Desperation by Richard Bachman aka Stephen King. It was a hardcover for only $5. Desperation is around 500 pages long and I read it in one night. From that point on my love affair with books have not only been rekindled but has grown into a near obsession. Here a look at my shelves.
The above picture is of my tallest bookshelf. The books are stacked 3 deep! These are mostly romances and a little mystery or crime fiction.
The above picture is of my ubran lit/or street lit books with a little general and YA fiction on the bottom shelf.
The above picture is of my classic, horror and nonfiction books.
There are also a few book on the shelf of my coffee table (I know, right!). Right now I think I own around 500 books and add at least one new book a month.
WOW what a great collection.. and thanx to your mom for rekindling your passion for reading :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes that was about 10 years ago. I would like to eventually get her a autograph book from Stephen King as he is her favorite author. That's why I drawn to Desperation in the first place.
ReplyDeleteYou know the first book I read as a novel was Lightning by Dean Koontz, loved it so I tried Four Past Midnight by Stephen King.. I was hooked to reading English novels after that.. cuz I was reading Arabic before :)
ReplyDeleteI think it was about 15 years ago!
That's a nice collection. Mine is really small because I don't plan to stay her long and I have a hard time giving things up. The first adult book that I read was Pet Sematary by Stephen King, my grandmother loved him
