Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2012 Day 2

In case you didn’t have a chance to sign up for an interview swap or your partner fell through, please feel free to answer these questions in place of an interview! So here we go

Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
Usually I don't.

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of
writing in books horrify you?
I do not make marks in books. Even when I was in school I wrote or type notes instead of highlighting!

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?
A book mark for sure and a index card/paper to make notes.

Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Fiction. Reading non-fiction makes me feel as if I'm taking a class.

Hard copy or audiobooks?
I like both. I prefer hard copy, then ebooks. I listen to audiobooks at work when I need a break from music.

Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you
able to put a book down at any point?
I able to put a book down at any point that is not juicy.

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
Usually no but I do make a note of it and look it up later. Most of the time I can figure out what it means through the context of the surrounding sentences.

What are you currently reading?
Perfect Fit (ebook) and Death Benefits (audiobook)

What is the last book you bought?
Single Husbands

Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can
you read more than one at a time?
I usually read at least two at a time.

Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read?
The afternoon and early evening.

Do you prefer series books or stand alone books?
Do we have a choice? It seems that most books coming out now are a part of a series.

Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
Not really but there are authors who have yet to let me down. Janet Evanovich's Plum series. James Patterson's Alex Cross series. J.A. Janice's Eve Dallas series. Nora Roberts. Honey B. Meeshia Mink. Carl Webber....

How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?)
By genre (with books by the same author stacked together of course) and then by read and not read.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Very interesting answers to these questions. I wish I could be more vigilant about keeping note-cards or post-its in my books so I could take notes along the way.
