The Review
This was a pretty good romance story. It is basically about thinking you know how your life is going to be until you are forced to reexamine your life. Are the things you thought you want still things you want? Are you the person you want to be? Is the person you are with someone you still want to be with?
Beth is on a journey to find those things out when her fiancé decides he need space to figure his life out. It forces Beth to do the same and there are no guarantees that either will find their way back to each other. I enjoyed the read. It was interesting enough. I like coming-of-age stories that aren't about teenagers. There are multiple points in a person life where you realize that you are learning more about yourself and life. There isn't just one transition into adulthood. I think Beth is like a lot of women. She lost herself in a relationship and doesn't realize it til she is out of it. Then while rediscovering herself struggle to figure out what it is she really wants. It's a nice spring/beach read.
Summary:
One woman. Two men. One meddling small town.
Raised by her older sister in the small town of Blueberry Springs, all Beth Wilkinson wants is to create a family so big she’ll never be alone. Things are going great until her accountant fiancé, Oz, experiences a family trauma, forcing him to rethink everything from his own career to their nuptial plans—leaving Beth alone.
As Beth works to rediscover her former bold and independent self in hopes of reattracting Oz, she catches the eye of the charming new city doctor, Nash. Not only does he see her as she’d like to be seen, but he knows exactly what he wants from life—and that includes Beth.
Torn between the two men, as well as two versions of herself, Beth discovers that love and dreams are much more complicated than they seem.
A chick lit contemporary romance that will appeal to fans of Jennifer Weiner, Jane Green, and Meg Cabot, and will have readers wondering who the heck Beth should choose.

Last Month's Winner
Wedding planner Tyler Warren left heartbreak behind when she ran away from her small Southern hometown and started a new life in a big city. Years later, she wants to believe in the fairy-tale endings her job promotes, but the clients she meets day after day seem to be more “Crazily Ever After” than “Happily Ever After.” Meanwhile, her own attempts at romance play out as bizarre comedies rather than love stories, and she’s starting to think Prince Charming either fell off his horse or got eaten by a dragon. When unresolved issues from Tyler’s past complicate things even further, she discovers she may yet have some things to figure out before she can find her own happy ending.
This delightful first book in the Tales Behind the Veils series chronicles Tyler’s wacky misadventures, both personal and professional. Whether she’s getting insane requests from brides or outlandish requests on dates, you’re sure to be charmed and entertained by the Diary of a Single Wedding Planner.

DeleteIt sounds like a good romance story with how she is forced to reevaluate her life. It's interesting this book takes place at such a transition point. Great review!
